Description: Program Coordinator
The
North American Institute is seeking a Program Coordinator starting July 1, 2003.
This position reports directly to the Executive Director, and is responsible
for the following functions:
Responsibilities:

Program
Coordination- Overseeing the development of NAMI’s central programs,
as well as working with the Executive Director and President to develop
new initiatives. Program themes include:

Advancing
Public Understanding- this is the main outreach component of NAMI,
and includes organizing conferences, meetings, and other events.

Smart
Borders/Green Trade Corridors- this involves networking across the
many transportation corridors organizations throughout North America
to produce written material on important and emerging trends within
the transportation industry, and identifying ways to enhance the concept
of green corridors.

Building
Trinational Leadership- this program is comprised of 2 primary projects:
North American Community Service, and Mid-Career Professionals. NACS
is a community service, voluntarism, and leadership initiative aimed
at young adults (ages 19-25); MCP is a leadership project that works
with emerging professionals and leaders throughout North America.

Membership
Program Administration- Working with the Executive Director and Director
of Development to implement a membership initiative; editing and publishing
the quarterly newsletter “NAMINEWS”; compiling articles, organizing
newsletter layout, mailing.

Event
Coordination- Working with the Executive Director to organize NAMI events
such as conferences, forums, workshops, meetings

Website
Maintenance- Keeping the website (www.northamericaninstitute.org)
current with up-to-date materials, links, etc. This includes a daily posting
of news articles on North American issues from major international news
sources; posting documents on webboard; periodic design review
Qualifications:

Education:
Master’s Degree or higher.

Work:
Must have at least 3 years experience working in public policy or non-profit
management.

Should
be able to demonstrate knowledge of emerging North American issues, and
of Trinational (Canada, US, Mexico) affairs in general.

Spanish
and/or French helps, but not a requirement.

Preference
will be given to individuals with experience in working with North American
Trinational affairs.
Salary
is $40,000; health insurance included.
